Ecommerce and Adsense Don’t Mix
Posted on 21 March 2011 by Matt
I often see small Ecommerce sites running Adsense ads right along with their product sales. Their logic is if someone doesn’t buy their product, at least they have a chance of making some money from ads. The problem is, they are sabotaging their own efforts. Sure, they could block all competitor’s ads so they show only ads of different products/services but that only undermines their efforts more. They are still losing sales. Any distraction will negatively effect conversion.
Not only are you losing individual sales, you are losing customers and any future sales to those potential customers.
Focus on YOUR customers, don’t distract and annoy them with Adsense ads and lose sales.
If you want to be taken seriously and trusted by your customers don’t run Adsense on your Ecommerce site.
